Hexham Town Centre
Town Centre Redevelopment
Nicholson Nairn have been involved with this site for over ten years. Initially concentrating on the land to the rear of 17 Priestpopple.
When their current client purchased 17 Priestpopple they took the decision to approach the development in a more holistic way: Their vision was the total redevelopment of what was a run down area of the town. Working with Northumberland Council they facilitated the removal of the bus station to a more appropriate part of the Town and thereby free up the core of the overall site.
NNA were tasked with creating a mixed use development on, what is, an extremely difficult site. The Council’s desire was to have a pedestrian link created, linking the main shopping street of Hexham with the Marks and Spencer retail area and car park to the south. Nicholson Nairn created quite literally a new street with retail premises on the ground floor, car parking within a basement area and residential above.
