This Edwardian building, constructed in 1908, was originally the ‘gatehouse’ for the home of Max Holzapfe, the paint manufacturer of Newcastle and constructed in the Queen Anne revival style.  This building was later converted into the Trinity School. In 2015, the main building was converted into retirement apartments, with our client purchasing the former gatehouse and re-developing this into a unique 2-bedroom home.

 

The interior of the building was completely re-configured to create an open-plan ground floor area, and 2 generous bedrooms on the upper floor. A small extension was also added to the front of the property, in keeping with the style of the existing building, to create a ground floor wc/cloaks area.
