NNA reach transition milestone!
3 years on from Chris Barr’s Management Buy-In of the business, founding partners of Nicholson Nairn Architects – Tony Nicholson & Garfield Nairn – have now stepped down from day to day duties as the initial transition phase concludes. Having set the company up in 1991, Tony and Garfield have worked tirelessly to build the business from scratch and to sustain success for 3 decades. This has seamlessly transitioned to part time involvement and support during the hand over period. Tony and Garfield remain as Consultants to the practice.
The last 3 years have brought significant change and growth. All targets set in 2017 have been surpassed, notably with a 100% turnover increase and the opening of a new studio in Yorkshire.
The end of the transition period marks the formal implementation of a new management team and with it, a series of promotions. Going forward, Chris Barr (Managing Director) will be supported in the management of the practice by Gary Wilson, Peter Elder, Philippa Ramsay and Chris Heal.
Gary Wilson, who heads up Yorkshire operations has been promoted to Associate Director, with Peter Elder and Philippa Ramsay becoming Associates of the business. Senior Architect Chris Heal, who joined the practice earlier in the year, completes the management team, bringing with him invaluable experience from prestigious southern practices.
Despite the current global challenges, NNA’s strategic direction remains firmly on course. The cross sector and scale diverse approach is a business model specifically designed for robustness during uncertain economic periods. A healthy project book - both live and in the pipeline - make for an exciting new chapter. NNA boast a talented team and the whole NNA family are committed to the continued success and growth of the practice.
